BEARIZONA | Williams, AZ

HAPPY MONDAY!!

I hope you all had a great weekend!! Saturday night we had the biggest monsoon storm this summer! It was soo cool! I think the backyard is still flooded... lol.

So today (Sunday) we took a mini road trip up to Williams and Flagstaff to visit Bearizona! This is a drive through wild life park where you can see bears, wolves (so crazy) bison, elk, deer, and so on.. It was sooo amazing! I am so glad we did this.

The weather app told us it would be rainy like 80% of the day- NOPE. Good ol' Arizona weather can never make up it's mind... So it was probably around 75 degrees and mostly sunny. At some points it was very over casty and it rained for like a total of two minutes..

But anyway, so driving through Bearizona was soo cool. It is amazing to be in the animals habitat to be able to see how they really are. Although I have been to zoos, I do not like animals being captive in cages.. So I love the idea of a drive through wild life park. And I even read on their website that they help rescue some of the injured animals in the wild and help rehabilitate them in the park.

There is a drive through area, where you have to keep the doors locked and the windows up (which is why these pictures are not the greatest of quality) then there is more of a "zoo" type section. So completely disregards everything I just wrote above.

So here are tonnnsss of pictures of the trip!

This bear was my favorite. He was in this giant tub splashing around and having just the greatest of times. His feet were even up in the tub like he was just relaxing lol. When we drove up I feel like he got embarrassed and jumped out of the tun and ran away lol. It was so cute!

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog!!

HOW I MET MY FIANCE | Story time

Hi guys!

This is my second story in my blog series Story Time. The name is pretty self-explanatory, but I am going to share stories about my personal life here and there. My very first story time was about my surprise Disneyland proposal.

So kids, today I am going to share an incredible story. The story of how James and I met. *ba ba ba ba baaaa*

So James and I met Freshmen year in High School. We had mutual friends, so we were always around each other, but never really talked.

It wasn't until Junior year we actually started becoming friends. We had two classes together- Exploring Communications and English. In English, we only really knew each other so it was easier to become friends. Plus, I was the teacher's assistant so I was in charge of the seating chart and sat him next to me ;) LOL! It's funny because I would grade his papers in class and always give him and A+, even when his homework was half complete...

Eventually, it became pretty obvious him and I were starting to like each other, but I didn't want anyone to know I liked him. Looking back, I have nooo idea why I didn't want anyone to know.. I was weird lol. So one day, his best friend, Kyle, called me and asked me "Hey do you like James?" not knowing that James had liked me to and was listening on the phone call... And me, being all embarrassed, I said "Ew no!!" and hung up... So James was discouraged. Clearly.

So in HS, I was on the volleyball team. Every Tuesday or something our team would get together and have lunch at Subway before our game, and one day (a few days later from his bestfriend calling me) he asked me if I wanted to go to Subway with him. And apparently I was playing extremely hard to get. So I tell him "uuhhh noo, I do not have any money." and he tells me "it's okay, I will pay for you." Then I tell him "I don't have a ride" and he responded "I will drive you". and then finally I was like "Uhhh I just can't go".

I really have no idea why I was playing so hard to get. I just assumed that James was the player type in high school. LOL

Then around Thanksgiving, I went to Minnesota to visit my uncle for about 10 days or so. James and I were texting each each other constantly. We were talking about what I was missing at school, how my trip was going, and just a bunch of random things. Then one night while I was there, I told him that I liked him and he told me he liked me too.

Fast forward like two days when I got back to school, I COMPLETELY ignored him. I acted like that conversation of us liking each other never existed.. Again, I do not know why I was so difficult. I think that I had thought it was a prank or something  for a good like week or so, I stopped talking to James.

I'm not sure how, but we ended up talking again and eventually started to hang out more and more. After a few weeks of hanging out,  he had asked me to be his girlfriend. This December, it will be 7 years of us being together. I cannot believe that. SEVEN YEARS. And then we will be getting married in March 2018.

I am so grateful that James didn't give up. I always tell him I was just playing hard to get so I knew he was the one. LOL! Who would have thought I would end up marrying the boy I had in two classes in High School that I ignored for after telling him I liked him. It is just funny how things work out. :)

Here are some pictures of us over the years!

BRIDESMAID GIFTS - Bridesmaid proposal

Welcome back you guys!

I went shopping with my bridesmaids yesterday to look at some bridesmaid dresses and I also FINALLY gave them their Bridesmaid gifts/ bridesmaid proposal gifts (I am not sure if it is called proposal or gift- so I am calling it both lol), soooo today I thought I would share my bridesmaid proposal gifts! These gift boxes are not mandatory, but it is just a thoughtful way to ask your bridesmaid to be apart of your big day and thank them for all of their love and support.

Ideally, I believe these gifts are supposed to be given pretty soon after the engagement. It took me 8 months to FINALLY give mine hehe. Better than never right? My girls already knew they were going to be in the bridal party, so that wasn't an issue.

Quick side note, I have 4 girls in my bridal party. Two are my sisters, the other two I have been friends with since Kindergarden and I am just so blessed to have these girls I have known my whole life beside me on my big day!

The main item in my gift box is the robe. I purchase these adorable robes from Etsy and I could not be happier with them. The customer service was great and they arrived in a reallly pretty packaging! All of the bridesmaids will have the navy blue and mine will be white. When we are getting ready the morning of the wedding and prepping for the big day, these are the robes we will wear. I absolutely love them. Here is the picture I found on Etsy of the bridal party wearing the robes on the wedding day!

This is not my picture. I used this picture from the Etsy page I purchased them from.

Champagne gummy bears! How cute are these?! I purchased these from Target and thought it would go so well with the gift. I just put them in a little clear back and tied them with a pretty ribbon.

A small bottle of Champagne. This will definitely come in handy during wedding planning, LOL.

Lastly, I just wrote a sweet little card that I bought from Target in their $1 section. (I love this section!!)

The finished look!! I could not be happier with the way the gifts turned out :)

I really really hope this helps give you some ideas if any of you are planning a wedding!

WEDDING PLANNING SUCKS, CHEERS!!

My Fiance and I got engaged December 1st, 2016 (My 23rd birthday). I was surprised about 4AM in the morning telling me to get packed... we are going a trip. We ended up flying to Disneyland with my whole family when he proposed. I have a video and a blog post about the whole day! Nonetheless, it was the most special day of my entire life.

Fast forward to present day. I am getting married in less than 8 months and I am losing my mind. When I was young, well,  younger.., I thought wedding planning was going to be so much fun. Picking out a dress, colors, flowers, cake, champagne, decorations, a venue, more champagne.... What could be so hard?

Everything. Everything is hard.

I suppose planning a wedding is much easier when you actually hire a wedding planner. But who wants to fork over a couple thousand dollars to someone else? I would much rather use that extra money towards the maybe the honeymoon, or ya know, more champagne. LOL

8 months. I have less than 8 months to plan the most special day of my life. So far, I have picked my dress- which was much easier than I thought it would be. I have picked the location, colors, and food. That is a pretty good... right?

In case you were thinking I had some tips or advice on how to not stress during wedding planning, I don't.

The only advice I can really give (which is probably an obvious one) is to just focus on making the day about YOU and your fiance. I mean, it's YOUR wedding, right? Cater the food YOU want. I can tell you, the food we picked to serve is our favorite food, If anyone doesn't like it, they don't have to eat it lol. Invite the people YOU want to be there. Not who your friends want, not who your Great Aunt Sally wants.. I don't have a Great Aunt Sally- don't worry.

Everyday I consider eloping more and more. Have you ever seen The Office? I want to be married by a captain of a ship in the Niagara Falls like Jim and Pam. :)

Let me just leave you with this last thought. Wedding planning sucks, CHEERS!

PS! How cute is this Fiance shirt from Target?! I think once you are engaged you are obligated to buy at least one fiance shirt :)

Thanks for reading!!!

12 THINGS IN JULY

Hello everyone!

I normally post my 12 things at the beginning of the month, but July flew by! So Hopefully you guys had a great month! July has been wonderful so far. I cannot believe we are approaching the 8th month of the year. Time is flying. Let's jump into my 12 things for the month of July!

1. James and I are hosting our first Halloween costume party this year and I cannot wait! It is never too early to start talking about Halloween ;)

2. I posted two blogs that I was super exited for. How to take better Instagram pictures and 10 things I have learned from blogging in a year

3. I am wearing this electric blue nail polish and I love it!

4. OMG how could I forget, I BOUGHT MY WEDDING DRESS! Here is a blog post about the special day.

5. I signed up for some e-courses with HeleneInBetween about building your blog. I adore her blog and I am super excited to step this page up a notch! *insert bicep emoji

6. I ordered my bridesmaid's gifts and I cannot wait to write a blog post about it.

7. It is definitely Monsoon season in Arizona and I am OBSESSED. I love rain and storms, but I HATE thunder. Funny story, when we first adopted Jax, our dog, we would sleep out on the couch to be able to take him potty throughout the night. One night it was storming really hard and the thunder scared me, so I woke James and told him "James wake up, Jax is really scared of the thunder" and he looked down and Jax was sleeping like a rock. He knew it was me that was scared LOL!

8. I think I wrote this in my 12 things in June, but I am wanting a vacation sooo bad. I really want to go somewhere like San Fran or Seattle. Or Portland.

9. Since it is monsoon season I have been loving coffee and hot tea at night! Some of my favorite teas from Teavana are Peach Tranquility and Mint Majesty

10. I made the mistake of showing Jax he can hangout on the baja step in our pool and now he is alwayssss in the pool. It was raining last night and this crazy dog jumped in the pool. He is so weird lol.

11. I just bought a pair of rose gold, cat eye sunglasses from Target and I love them. Here is a very similar pair. I cannot find the exact pair :(

12. My goal is to get out two blog posts a week. I am going to try really hard to achieve this!

13. BONUS - Last night James and I watched The Gift, not knowing it was a scary movie.. We got through about 30 minutes before we turned it off because it was scary. I ended up having a nightmare about the movie. This is why I do not watch scary movies...

Let me know what your 12 things are for the month of July!!
